Long fascinated with photography and the art of creating images that people can enjoy and appreciate, the author has curated this book to capture and present current images of the American West and Southwest in a unique and imaginative manner that acknowledges the depth of history for this storied part of America. This photography book is organized from sunrise to sunset, with the idea that a day's journey provides a vision of the history, culture, and natural beauty of this vast and diverse area of the USA. Whimsically, the author's lifelong love of music is reflected in the chapter titles and most of the photo titles.
An intuitively useful tool for conveying emotions, stories, and vision, Black and White photography is never really about the absence of color, but rather the proactive ability to use the remaining visual elements to create an artistic image that is both powerful and meaningful for the viewer. The objective of Touch of Grey is to enable fresh interpretations of the author's photography within the sphere of the black and white art form.

Expertise Behind the Lens
William Patrick Walsh is a retired engineer, residing in the Coachella Valley, CA and pursuing his lifelong interest in fine art photography. His principal interests lie in Western and Southwest landscapes and old western towns, and he is particularly inspired by the vast wonders of America’s National Parks. He also enjoys capturing and documenting musical performances of all types due to his long term addiction to rock and roll!
Collating fresh ideas and applying evolving advances of composition and digital photography, culminates in the creation of Bill’s unique and original images. His approach to producing art through photography drives the creative output of the images that he makes.
Bill is a member of the Artists Council in Palm Desert, CA, the 29 Palms Artists Guild, the Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club, and the Photographic Art Club in San Clemente, CA. His work has been shown consistently in shows and exhibitions throughout the Coachella Valley Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, and 29 Palms.
